Here you will find my adventures in gardening, baking, cooking, preserving and environmentally friendly living. Local and organic products are what I strive for. I love to bake and cook from scratch. There really is a difference when you use the freshest ingredients and make it yourself. I do it all from my home on Long Island, NY where the farm stands and my garden give me much of what I need. When you use local and organic ingredients you are being kind to the planet.

September 5, 2010 Garden Gifts

Sunday, September 5, 2010 was a beautiful day. My garden gave up beautiful things.

There is 1 Arkansas Traveler, 1 Green Zebra, 2 Roma and 30 Cherry Tomatoes.

The Romas went into the freezer with the Traveler, they are destined for pasta sauce. The cherry went into the freezer into a baggie. I figure I can make a sauce out of them too. They can also be added to soups and stews in the winter. The Green Zebra was eaten. It is a bit tangy and very good.
