What are you serving for the big game? There are some staples for me that must be there like chips and dips. It is the ultimate in casual entertaining. Beer and snacks are a must have. Everyone is wearing their favorite team jersey and a pair of jeans. I try to make as much as I can from scratch, but know when to call in re-inforcements. I use sternos to keep the food hot from kick off, through half time and until the clock hits zero. Here is my menu. Sit back, relax and enjoy the game.
Order these items:
Wings: there are so many great wings places and regular restaurants that sell wings of all flavors, don't make them.
Sandwich: Nothing says football party to me like a hero sandwich. We buy a hero sandwich with Italian meats. We also order a chicken, roasted red pepper and fresh mozzerella version. The sandwich does not need to be on a long board, place it in a nice basket and it looks great and takes up very little room. If you are lucky, salads may come on the side.
Chips: Buy your favorite crunchy chips and tortilla chips. Who makes these anyway?
Make these items:
Guacamole: Serve with scoop style corn chips
Onion Dip: Take one 16 oz. container of sour cream and one pouch of onion soup mix and combine. Refrigerate for one hour before serving.
Buffalo Chicken Dip: Serve it with scoop style corn chips
Sausage and Peppers: Serve it on plate or buy large hero rolls and make it into a sandwich.
Baked Ziti: This can be made in advance and really fills people up!
Pigs in a Blanket: Buy Cresent rolls in a tube. Buy small mini hot dogs or cut up hot dogs into bite sized pieces. Cut each Crescent roll into 3-4 triangular pieces. Roll the hot dogs in the Crescent rolls. Bake 20-25 minues at 350 degrees, until brown and hot. Serve with mustard and ketchup on the side.
Super Bowl Sundaes: Take your favorite homemade or store bought brownies and cut into single serve portions. Microwave each portion for 5-10 seconds until warm. Top with your favorite ice cream, syrups and whipped cream.
If you must make wings try my Chili Lime version.
