Oktoberfest - Bratwurst in a Slow Cooker

This year my pumpkin carving party included more than just pumpkins and cuopcakes, I decided to make some traditional Oktoberfest foods.  Here is a recipe for Bratwurst.  I used the slow cooker so that I could enjoy my guests and keep them warm during the party.  This is a simple recipe but delicious.  If you like Brats, this is a great recipe for you.

Ingredients:

8 Brats
2 12 oz beers
1 onion, sliced
3/4 cup ketchup

If you have a slow cooker liner, place it in the slow cooker.  Add all of the ingredients to the slow cooker. Add water if all the ingredients are not covered.

All ingredients in the crock pot.
Cook on high for 4 hours or low for 8.

At the end of that time, take out the brats and grill them until browned.

Return them to the slow cooker.  Place the slow cooker on warm, or low of you don't have a warm function.

Serve with hot dog buns or hero rolls, with the onions on top.  Serve mustard on the side.
